The Newman International Academy Board of Trustees is responsible for the following key functions:
- Ensuring the school's mission is achieved and advanced across all campuses
- Establishing and monitoring strategic goals and policies
- Overseeing financial stewardship and resource allocation
- Approving the annual budget and monitoring expenditures
- Supporting recruitment, evaluation, and retention of leadership
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal education requirements
- Fostering accountability and transparency with stakeholders
- Building and maintaining community partnerships and support

Note: The board conducts executive sessions as permitted by Texas Education Code and open meetings law to discuss personnel matters, real property, and other confidential topics.
